Rodney L. Starkey
With a broken heart, we share that our friend and mentor Roney L. Starkey passed away on January 20, 2025.
We share the news with our customer base because we know he was well known by our community and deeply cared for by all of you. We admired his, off the top of his head, knowledge and willingness to help everyone around him. Rodney was a member of the ASA of North Texas for over 30 years. Master in his craft, he gained his Master Mechanic Licenses and held them current for over 40 years, which they to this day remained current. Even when he was no longer turning wrenches, he still took classes and stayed up to date and dedicated to his craft.
Rodney Starkey was born on June 7, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to George and Beverly Starkey. He had two sisters and one brother: D.A, Susan, and David Starkey. Rodney’s health had grown weak after COVID, but his faith in Jesus Christ only grew stronger. Those who knew him know well that even with an oxygen tank at his side, he remained at the shop. His dedication had always been something to admire and an example to follow. He is now at peace and happy with those who have gone before him.
He always wanted us to thank our customers for the calls, notes, and concern. We shared each and every one with him on a daily basis up to the day he passed. If you filled out a GET WELL CARD at the shop, know that it made it to his hands. He knew he would be missed, loved, and appreciated.
Rest In Peace and ’til we meet again, Boss.
